John A. Sym
John is a native of New York City and worked for over twenty years as an attorney in the real
estate sections of large law firms in the greater New York and Boston areas. He has broad
experience counseling developers, owners, users and lenders in a wide array of commercial
transactions including the sale, acquisition, development, financing and zoning of various
properties. He focuses his practice particularly upon representing landlords and tenants in
the leasing of office, retail, warehouse, high technology and laboratory space.
Currently, John lives in Lexington, Massachusetts with his wife and two children. He is admitted
to practice, and actively represents clients, in both New York and Massachusetts, and is a member
of the City Bar Association of New York, the Massachusetts Bar Association and the National Lawyers
Association. Through Columbia University's Advanced Interdisciplinary Legal Education program, in
1989 John simultaneously received both his B.A., magna cum laude, from Columbia College, where he
was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and his J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.
